"With the emphasis on online testing, it is imperative for these kids to get used to using these things," Northeast principal Jerry Bush said. "These computers will allow them the opportunity to become familiar with using a computer so they won't feel anxious when it is time to take a test."
The lab is located in the fourth grade cluster of the school and is used by classes of students throughout the day as well as the LEAPs after school program.
"We have a lot of technology based programs that we use, like Accelerated Reader and Study Island," Bush said.
The new lab has been in use for about a month now, with programs like A.R. and Study Island being the main student use.
Bush worked closely with Community Bank Chief Information Officer Jeff Gibbs in arranging the details and logistics of the donation.
