LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY: Jennifer Lynn Shepherd
, of Taylorsville, has been named recipient of Kentucky Farm Bureau Women's Educational Grant
was presented the award at a Women's Luncheon, held December 10, during the 85th Annual Meeting of Kentucky Farm Bureau
, which is being held at the Galt House in Louisville.
The $1,000 women's grant is awarded annually to a non-traditional student who is interested in resuming her
education after leaving school to fulfill either family or work-related responsibilities.
Monies for the grant have been raised through the leadership of the Kentucky Farm Bureau
Women's Advisory Committee. Shepherd
graduated Magna Cum Laude and as Valedictorian from the College of Health and Allied Nursing at Eastern Kentucky University
.She was also a member of the Golden Key Honor Society, the Dean's and President's lists, and was included in Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities.She currently serves as a maternal/child nurse and Bereavement Team leader at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville, where she gives staff seminars on how to care for grieving families.
This grant will allow her
to attend part-time classes in pursuit of her
degree in Clinical Systems Management or Nursing Informatics.Shepherd
husband, Michael, reside in Spencer County with their two children Amelia and William.
