Jennifer Ann Scott
Jennifer realized after enrolling in Exercise Science at Concordia University that she had the power to create her dream job.
dream was to combine the experience she
gained from her
competitive sports background and the knowledge and experience that university would give her
in health sciences so she
could carry out her
main passion which was to give her
athletes and clients the tools and motivation to heal after injury and improve their quality of life.
Jennifer performed in school as she did in sports and graduated with distinction in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science, specialization Athletic Therapy.
Having worked as a personal trainer since 2002 Jennifer was well prepared for her future and it was time to venture out on her own and establish herself as an independent private health consultant in 2006.
knowledge of training and her
passion for athletic therapy through 2006 and 2007, she
reputation as well as her
credentials by becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Certified Athletic Therapist.
Since accumulating her
has worked with international professional rugby players, future Olympic skiers, and is now the Strength and Conditioning Specialist for the Mahjongg
Montreal Men Dragon Boat team.
Whether guiding these individual athletes through a rehabilitation program or enhancing their already developed skills, Jennifer's goal is always the same: continual improvement.
Not only has Jennifer
worked with international athletes she
has also changed the lives of terminally ill cancer patients and clinically depressed patients by giving them a chance to appreciate life a little more.
has done this not only with her
formal training but with her
magnetic personality that breathes motivation and vitality back in to her
clients and patients.
The medals that she
will help her
athletes win are no comparison to how she
feels and the satisfaction that comes from giving her
patients aspects of their life back that without her
guidance would not have been possible.
Jennifer Ann Scott
lived a very active childhood and young adult life.
has competed in soccer, rugby, rowing, tennis, ballet and triathlons.
Fortunately for her
professional career, her
personal experiences in the sports world have given her
first hand experience in understanding how much physical and especially psychological effort and strength is needed when rehabing from injury back to competition.
No rest is given when none is needed, pushing everyone that works with her
to their own personal limit, ensuring that improvements are continuous and always to maximum potential, and often to surprising lengths.
Since the age of 16, Jennifer
has enjoyed her
winters by skiing and building her
credentials with the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance
(C.S.I.A.) and the Canadian Ski Coaches Federations
Now a level II C.S.C.F. and a level III C.S.I.A., working toward her level IV, Jennifer is working with one of the strongest racing clubs in Canada, Club de Ski Tremblant.
In working with the Club de Ski
has not only been involved in the daily coaching of athletes on snow but has applied her
knowledge of biomechanics and fundamental movement in the Club's training routines.
With this there has been a significant improvement in her
athlete's balance and coordination and their natural athletic abilities have flourished.
Not only has she
made significant impacts on her
athlete's abilities but when evaluating their fundamental movement patterns and correcting them when necessary she
has decreased the possibility of future chronic injury.
This in turn has decreased turn around time when injured and increased the amount of time that they can spend training and competing.
has continued learning and concentrated her
efforts on expanding her
reconditioning and training knowledge on posture and fundament movement patterns.
has also developed her
manual therapy skills by taking certification courses in muscle energy, joint mobilization and myofascial release of the ribs, thoracic spine, lumbar spine and pelvis.
As the newest addition to the High Performance team, Jennifer feels that with her
previous accomplishments and her
knowledge of skiing, she
brings a new dimension and a fresh set of hands to the table and is proud to be a part of the whole.
We met Jen
in December 2008 and she
started from the ground up.
, we would have lost the whole season and probably much more."
