â€" Jennifer Joy Lucas, M.D., has joined Bassett as a general urologist and will see patients in Cooperstown and Bassett Healthcare-Herkimer.
will see patients of all ages for general urology disorders and for a variety of bladder issues in women, including stress incontinence (leaking urine), painful urination, nocturia (episodes of night waking to urinate) and bladder prolapse.
Dr. Lucas will also work in conjunction with the rehabilitation department at Little Falls Hospital to offer pelvic floor therapy, an alternative to surgery for patients with incontinence and pelvic pain.
"Dr. Lucas is a wonderful addition to our urology division," said Steven Heneghan, M.D., Chief of Surgery at Bassett Healthcare.
Dr. Lucas completed her undergraduate degree at Wellesley College, in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and her masterâ€™s degree at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia.
She earned her medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, in Kansas City.
completed a general surgery internship and recently completed a urology residency at University of Texas Health Sciences Center

She is a member of the American Urological Association and the Society of Women in Urology.
