Jennet Zerbe
Ballet Teacher Jennet Zerbe began her ballet training in the Cecchetti method with Olga Fricker and Sheila Darby in Los Angeles. As a professional, Jennet Zerbe trained with Gilbert Mayer of the Paris Opera Ballet, and was coached by Elena Tchernichova from the Kirov. What Anna Kisselgoff called Ms. Zerbe's "fleet nuanced dancing" earned her considerable notice and lasting praise. Jennet Zerbe danced many neoclassical ballets by George Balanchine, including the first principal couple in Bourrée Fantasque, as well as the postmodern choreography of Merce Cunningham: appearing in his Duets on the PBS series Dance in America. Ms. Zerbe has completed her Advanced II Cecchetti exam with honors, her bachelor's degree from Wellesley College with honors, and participated in the launch of the teacher training program at the JKO School at ABT. She is an ABT® Certified Teacher for all levels. Her work as a certified Pilates instructor has furthered her conceptions of movement, and she has adjudicated ballet competition performances. Jennet Zerbe brings both studied regard and intuitive understanding of classical ballet to her teaching. She shares an artistic viewpoint and a developed, intellectual perspective with her students at School of Alberta Ballet.
