Jeffrey Rogers Ballet Arizona Born in Virginia in a southern military family, Jeffrey Rogers began his early training at the age of nine in Germany under Maureen Gergun, a former Soloist from the Royal Ballet in London. Jeffrey was also awarded full scholarships at the National Academy of Arts in Illinois. There, he completed his formation in the Vaganova, Bournonville and Cecchetti techniques, working with such great teachers as Petrus Bosman, Georgina Parkinson and Valerie Taylor of the Royal Ballet and Francesca Corkle of the Joffrey Ballet, Flemming Halby, Larissa Skylanskya and Toni Lander of The Royal Danish Ballet. Keeping a close connection with the English dance scene, Jeffrey was given the rare honor in 1983, as a student, to take class with the Royal Ballet. In 1984, Jeffrey was granted the Princess Grace Foundation Award as one of it's first awardees for Artistic Excellence in dance, cited for "Outstanding performing and dramatic quality in one so young. Jeffrey Rogers has danced all the major Principal roles in the Classical repertoire from Albrecht to Siegfried and at the same time, he has managed to take on all of the adjacent supporting roles in those very same ballets. In doing so, he has developed a deep sense of stage craft and accumulated a strong following with the audiences and is a noted comedic and character actor. In this outstanding career, Jeffrey has also had the opportunity to perform as a Principal dancer in the best contemporary works by renowned choreographers. Jeffrey has been coached and tutored by numerous dance personalities from around the world. Jeffrey is also an adjunct professor at the University of Utah's Dance Department, Principal teacher the Ballet West Academy, company teacher for Ballet West, and a Master Teacher and Judge for the world renowned YAGP. He is in wide demand as a guest company and school teacher nationally. He is an avid gamer, animal lover, and fan of Sci-Fi and Fantasy.
