Brookfield Power Chief Dam Safety Engineer Jeff Auser said Wednesday all 18 dams along the Raquette River are checked once every 24 hours.
The inspections have not revealed any problems. "We have been very satisfied with how the dams have performed," Mr. Auser said in a telephone interview from Oswego. "But there's still a lot of water that still needs to come the river." The Raquette River will need about a week before an "appreciable decline will be seen" along its banks, Mr. Auser said.
