Beir, has been elected to sit on the Board of Overseers for Boston's Museum of Science.
The role of Museum Overseer enables Beir
to offer his
technology experience, business knowledge, and personal interest in childhood education to the job of furthering the Museum's
goal of providing exceptional science-oriented learning experiences to its visitors.Beir joins a board comprised of community leaders who have a special interest in supporting the Museum's mission to stimulate interest in science and technology in our daily lives.
The Museum, which is highly regarded for its hands-on, innovative approach to science education, attracts more than 1.7 million visitors annually.

Originally founded in 1830, the Museum of Science

Beir is president and CEO of eRoom Technology, a Cambridge-based high technology firm specializing in Web-based collaborative technologies.Prior to co-founding eRoom Technology, he held the position of senior vice president of the Applications Division at Lotus Development Corporation and was responsible for all of Lotus' desktop applications.Beir also held development positions at IBM and Xerox.He earned his MBA from the Harvard Business School, his MSEE from Syracuse University, and his BSEE from Northwestern University.Beir
