Spratt's congressional liaison, Jeffery Sligh, was, by far, the most helpful and sympathetic. He fully explained the immigration process and how long we could expect to wait at each step.He had Spratt's staff in Washington get me the latest information on Richard's application.I talked with him several times over the eight months that it took for Richard to get permission to immigrate. He was unfailingly kind and knowledgeable.

One of Simpson's first priorities, Mulvaney said, was to bring on a member of Spratt's former team, Jeffrey Sligh.
With his extensive experience dealing with district constituents and navigating the federal government's many agencies, and because of strong community support from more than 400 Rock Hill residents who signed a petition asking Mulvaney to keep him on, Sligh was invited to remain working for the district's representatives, even if the parties have changed. Sligh will be one of five staffers at the Rock Hill office.
