CurrentMom: About Jeannie

Jeannie Wong is a media and communications professional with 25 years of experience at large daily newspapers throughout her native California.
Most recently, she was a member of the upper-management leadership team at the Sacramento Bee, where, as a department head and features editor, she oversaw entertainment and pop culture, conceptualized award-winning sections and helped guide news coverage. Prior to the Bee, Jeannie worked as a reporter at the Oakland Tribune and at the San Diego Union. She stepped out of the newsroom to spend more time with her identical twin daughters. But as the girls grow older -- and Jeannie realizes she isn't getting any younger -- she's decided to plunge into the second act of her career: as founder and president of JAMM Information Group. JAMM specializes in writing, editing and social media projects, with an eye toward working with nonprofit organizations and small businesses. Jeannie, who holds a B.A. in print journalism from the University of Southern California, also serves on the national board of the Asian American Journalists Association. She and her husband live in Northern California with their daughters and three overindulged goldfish.
