Moon supervisors have hired Jeanne Creese, former manager of Collier, as the township's interim manager.
At a regular board meeting yesterday, officials said Creese would take over the job of long-time manager Greg Smith, who resigned Oct. 1 because of conflicts with the supervisors. The supervisors voted 3-0 at a special meeting Monday to hire Creese, who was not immediately available for comment.

Collier Manager Jeanne Creese is on administrative leave, and township officials are remaining mum about the reasons for her leave or her future employment status, saying it is a personnel matter.
Ms. Creese, who has been manager since July 2004, met privately 10 days ago with several township commissioners. She was absent from the Oct. 14 commissioners' voting meeting and from a public budget work session Tuesday night. Part of the manager's job is to prepare the annual operating budget. Other than elected officials, the only township employee at the Tuesday meeting was Secretary Roberta Schmitt, who had served as interim manager before Ms. Creese was hired. The board held a private session to discuss personnel before the start of Tuesday's budget meeting, but no action was taken that involved Ms. Creese. Another private session was held after the meeting's adjournment. Phone calls to Ms. Creese were not returned. Ms. Creese, 37, a summa cum laude graduate of Geneva College, was township manager in Rochester, Beaver County, before coming to Collier. She also is a state-certified emergency medical technician and fire academy instructor and has been serving as Collier's local emergency management coordinator. Ms. Creese is not under contract with the township and is considered an at-will employee. According to the 2008 budget, her annual salary is $67,600. Ms. Creese's administrative leave isn't the only recent change in the administrative staff.

Contacted Tuesday Roger Horgan, president of Collier's board of commissioners, and Collier Manager Jeanne Creese said the township would consider changing the name of the Station Street in Collier if they received a formal request from Carnegie.
