Jean joined Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce in 1992 and in 1997 was asked to join the Board of Directors.
Since the merger of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chambers of Commerce in 2006, Jean has been the Chair of the Nottinghamshire Members Council which promotes policy across the county.
In 1997 Jean founded Enterprising Women, a networking group aimed at empowering women in business through a variety of both business and social events.
now has over 500 members and the group is recognised nationally as a leading organisation representing women in business.
Jean is the Chair of the East Midlands Business Crime Forum (EMBCF).
represents over 80,000 businesses across the East Midlands on advising how to reduce/prevent crime.

In 2009 the National Business Crime Forum was formed and Jean was asked to be the Vice Chair.
