Jean Ferber, MDTrauma SpecialistsDr. Jean Ferber has been a member of the trauma services at Broward General Medical Center since 1999.She
has nearly 20 years of experience in general surgery.Dr. Ferber completed her bachelor's degree in chemistry at SUNY, Stony Brook.She received her medical degree from the Universidad del Noreste Escuela de Medicina in Tampico, Mexico.She completed an internship, residency and chief residency at Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, Connecticut and a fellowship in general surgery at Bayley Seton Hospital in New York before serving as staff surgeon at Reynolds Army Community Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma.Upon completion of a fellowship in surgical critical care, Dr. Ferber served as attending staff surgeon in trauma and critical care at SUNY, Stony Brook.She is board certified in general surgery with added qualification in surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery.She
teaches advanced trauma life support to both ATLS instructors and ATLS providers.Dr. Ferber is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Association of Women Surgeons and the American Chemical Society.She
serves on the pharmacy and therapeutics committee and the ethics committee at Broward General Medical Center
