Jean M Casner

Jean M Casner is a human resources professional with a proven track record of delivering innovative and creative business-based HR solutions. She specializes in developing programs in total rewards, talent acquisition and retention, recognition, HR systems, and global mobility programs that make a difference to the business and the employees in achieving results.
As Vice President of Compensation and Human Resources Information Systems at the National Basketball Association, Casner was responsible for global compensation, total rewards, HR systems and strategy, and the NBA's global relocation programs and policies. She led a team to establish a global compensation and total rewards department at the NBA, managing employee information and responding to the human resource needs of the business based on the ever-growing global initiatives.
Prior to joining the NBA, Casner worked in executive-level human resources positions for Merck & Co., Inc., Dial Consumer Products (now owned by Henkel), Johnson and Johnson and Organization Resources Counselors, Inc. (now owned by Mercer).
Her eight years as the head of compensation for Dial Consumer Products - where she built a corporate compensation department after the company was spun off as a stand-alone, publicly traded company - is a highlight of her resume. Casner led the redesign of Dial's state-of-the-art compensation programs, which helped engage employees and resulted in a doubling of the company stock price in less than two years.
Casner is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the New York Compensation Association, and World at Work.
In 1997 Casner's work in the area of compensation was the topic of Don't Count on That Merit Increase, an article for The Wall Street Journal. Casner is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a bachelor's degree in English literature. She lives in Basking Ridge, N.J. with her husband Stephen.
