Jean Frazier, M.D., is Vice Chair of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
She directs a broad research program that addresses a variety of scientific problems relevant to advancing the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as schizophrenia and autism. Dr. Frazier collaborates with a number of investigators both locally and nationally in order to tackle difficult research questions. Dr. Frazier was previously associated with Harvard Medical School and Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), where she was the Director of Child Psychopharmacology, Co-director of the Center for Child and Adolescent Development and Director of the Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatric Research Program. She received her medical degree at Dartmouth Medical School and served her residency in adult psychiatry at New England Medical Center. She completed a clinical fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Bradley Hospital, a major teaching hospital for Brown University. She also completed a research fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health. Frazier, who is widely published and has received numerous honors for her work, serves on several national committees and editorial boards.

Associate Professor, Harvard Medical School Director, Child Psychopharmacology Dr. Frazier attended Dartmouth medical school and trained at New England Medical School in adult psychiatry and at Brown in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She completed a research fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health, mentored by Judith L. Rappaport, MD. Dr. Frazier then returned to Boston where she has continued her research and clinical work. She is widely published, and has received many honors, and sits on a number of national committees and editorial boards. She joined Cambridge Health Alliance in 2005. Dr. Frazier is the director of Child Psychopharmacology for the Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. She supervises the Child Fellows and directs the psychopharmacology seminar. In addition, she is a Co-Director of the Center for Child and Adolescent Development (CCAD), a multidisciplinary clinic for children with developmental, behavioral and learning challenges. Dr. Frazier is also the Director of the Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatric Research Program, which evaluates and treats youth with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and Pervasive Developmental Disorders, and youth at risk for developing these conditions. Evaluations are done within the context of multiple research protocols. These protocols include investigations into phenomenology, neuroimaging, neurocognitive assessments, genetics and treatment interventions. Dr. Frazier will be leaving CHA in October 2008 to assume the position of Child Psychiatry Division Chief at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.
