Jay Hall, PhD, LEED-AP
has approximately 30 years experience in market transformation, sustainable design of buildings, and energy efficiency.
He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University.
In 1989, he began with ICF International as a consultant working on EPA's ENERGY STAR market transformation programs.
For ten years, he led ICF's consulting team for ENERGY STAR for Homes.
Since 2004, Jay
has provided independent consulting services to the US Green Building Council
in facilitating the development of the LEED for Homes program.
Dr. Hall was Acting Director for LEED for Homes for two years.
company now provides Certification approval services for all LEED for Homes
projects nationally, under contract to USGBC
also provides program development, technical services, verification consulting and training to a variety of other clients in the sustainability and green home building industry, including Canada's
Green Building Council, Enterprise Green Communities
(including their Offset Fund), and Habitat for Humanity's
Partnership for Sustainable Building.
As a LEED-AP (Homes) and an active LEED Faculty member, he
delivers several green home related courses and has co-developed several trainings, including the USGBC's
Green Home Design and Construction course, and the RESNET Certified Green Rater training.
He also serves on the Home Depot Foundation Awards of Excellence Selection Committee and The Healthy House Institute Advisory Board.
