Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism's Deputy Commissioner of Tourism Janis Cannon said the State Travel Guide is the most requested piece of information that visitors ask for.
"It is a storybook about Georgia
that is also the tourism yellow pages. It tells about everything to see and do in the State through the use of editorial, photography, regional recipes, contact information and much more.It helps people effectively plan everything from day trips to extended vacations."
GDITT spends a total of $4.7 million to advertise and promote Georgia attractions and destinations.Cannon
says more funding for Tourism means more economic growth for the state. "The Department of Labor
says for every $71,500 in tourism expenditures a new job is created. With only a one percent increase in national market share we could add 79,000 jobs for Georgia
.We need more allocation of resources dedicated to advertise Georgia
as a place visit," Cannon
