Associate Professor Jan Orrell and Margaret Bowden
Associate Professor Janice Orrell is an educational consultant who was a foundation director at the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (now ALTC).
Prior to this she was the Academic Coordinator at Flinders University where her responsibilities were to assist academics engage in quality teaching and to support academic organisational units enhance their academic programs.
research fields are assessment in higher education and work-integrated learning, quality assurance in higher education, dissemination of innovation in higher education, clinical education and the induction of academics to various aspects of their role, especially teaching and supervision.
In 2001 she
won the Australian Universities National Award of Excellence for the Flinders Foundation of University Teaching programme she
devised for newly appointed academics.
particular interest is forging authentic, generative links between professional and community organisations and higher education.
has supervised successful thesis completions of Coursework Masters, Masters by Research and PhDs in the fields of Primary Health Care, nursing practice, assessment in higher education, clinical education and assessment for both Australian and International students.
