Area families interested in hosting an international high school student during the 2009/2010 academic year are currently being interviewed by local community coordinator Janette Charlick for PAX-Program of Academic Exchange, a non-profit educational foundation.
PAX students from more than 35 different countries will arrive in the U.S. in August for a school year. They will live with American host families and attend local area high schools. PAX students speak English, have full medical insurance and their own spending money. Students placed locally will be supervised by PAX Community coordinator Janette Charlick serving our area. They only need a place to sleep, a place to study, to join in the meals that normally take place at home, and to receive the support a teenager requires. Families, single parents, couples without children and retirees are welcome to apply as hosts. For more information contact Janette Charlick at (248) 408-9726 jcharlick@aol.com or the PAX national office in New York at (800) 555-6211, or visit www.pax.org.
