In other action last week, Janet Thompson, director of the Everett Senior Center, said fees are going up.
The annual cost will go from $5 to $15 for individuals, and from $8 to $25 for couples.
A new center will soon open, and in addition to higher operating costs, state funding for the center has dropped, she
said no one had been turned away because they didn't have the money. Thompson
did not know exactly when the new center will open, but she
hopes it will be completed this week. She
said the old center might have to be closed in order for the move to be made.
