Much of the 2000/2001 season had been put on hold for the World Series but fitness fanatic Jane
had ended the 1999/2000 term in great style.
The 22-year-old postwoman had been voted, after a terrific defensive display, player of the match as her
club Hindley Pumas had ended the 10-year Challenge Cup reign of Wakefield Panthers.
There were numerous other player of the match performances during the season and at the end of year awards for her
, a Warrington Wolves supporter, had been handed the top tackler trophy.
Speaking in an overwhelmed state, after receiving the award, she
revealed that it had come as a big surprise.
