Jan Schar
Jan Schar has been a Federation member since 1974. She served as her Club's President for four terms. She served on the Board of the Virginia Federation as Public Relations Chairman, Finance Chairman, 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President, and than as State President.
Jan served on the NFRW Board from 1996 until 2006 as a State President, Chairman of the Resolutions Committee, Chairman of the House Committee, and Chairman of the Business Woman's Committee.
She has participated in many political campaigns, local, state, and national. She served 28 years on the Fairfax County Republican Committee, and was a member of the Republican Party of Virginia State Central Executive Committee. She worked in the White House Office of Public Liaison from 1989 until 1992 and Co-chaired the Office of Volunteers for Bush-Cheney following their first election.

Mrs. Jan Schar of Great Falls, 1996-1998 Her tenure saw a Republican majority in the Virginia Senate, and parity in the House with a Republican Governor, Lt.Governor and Attorney General; members of the VFRW collectively donated the highest amount ever to candidates and campaigns ($68,000); she was elected as a full delegate to the Republican Nation Convention; strengthening of working relations with RPV.
