Tom Allore, Rick Kinsey and Jan Herliczek, all of Monroe County, received the Silver Beaver Award, a national award given to adult volunteers within Boy Scouts of America.We're in it for the kids ,that's my main focus," said Mrs. Herliczek, who's been involved with Boy Scouts for 25 years."It is nice when you can make a difference."Mrs. Herliczek of Petersburg is an assistant council commissioner for training for Great Sauk Trail Council.Her involvement began in England, where she was born, and carried over to the United States when she moved here in 1964. "My involvement started when I lived in England, where young men and women were involved, unlike here, where it's all men.With the program I was in, we did a lot of programs with the Boy Scouts," she explained.
