Benefit Night in aid of Jan Battles at Ocean Hotel Benefit Night in aid of Jan Battles at Ocean Hotel Friends of Jan Battles have come together to organise a Benefit Night in Dunmore East. Jan was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and at this extremely difficult time in her life she wants to do something for others. The funds raised will not save Jan but will help towards research of this most cruel disease. Jan, only 42, is a native of Dunmore East, past pupil of Mercy Secondary School and a journalist, having worked for 15 years with the Sunday Times. If you have time please listen to the podcast interview with Ryan Tubridy 2FM of 16th December 2013, she is amazing.
