Swann and Rountree merge companies
Swann and Rountree merge companies GALLERY NEWS - Jamie Rountree of Rountree Fine Art and Oliver Swann of Tryon Gallery have announced that they will merge their two companies under the new name of Rountree Tryon. So it seems a good fit with Rountree Fine Art, which was established in 2009 by Jamie Rountree after ten years working for Christie's and Bonhams, and, unusually for a gallery nowadays, specialises in sporting and maritime paintings from the 18th century to the Second World War. The new company will deal in traditional and contemporary sporting and maritime art and will be based at Tryon Gallery's current premises in St James's Gallery at 7 Bury Street, as Jamie gives up his space on Fulham Road in Chelsea. Oliver Swann, who has run Tryon Gallery since 1995, plans to retire in five years' time when Jamie will take over the entire business. Above: Oliver Swann of Tryon Galleries and Jamie Rountree of Rountree Fine Art, who are merging to form a new business, Rountree Tryon.

Rountree Fine Art was formed by Jamie Rountree, and is inspired by his interest in British paintings that reflect the history, culture, travel and sporting leisure pursuits of the 18th and 19th Century.
The main focus is on Sporting Paintings, Maritime Art, Wildife Art and Topographical works from the 18th Century to the present day. These areas were at the core of English taste up until the world wars, and still continue to fascinate collectors around the world. Jamie Rountree has specialised in British and Irish paintings for over a decade, working for both Bonhams and Christie's Auctioneers. He has run the departments for Sporting Art, Maritime Paintings, English watercolours and Original book illustrations at various points in his career, and has a huge passion for these subjects.
