The United States Kenpo Karate Association (USKKA) was founded in 1989 by Dr. James Tindall after consultation with Master Edmund K. Parker, founder of the Parker Kenpo System and the International Kenpo Karate Association (IKKA) and, master of our style.

throughout the United States by teaching the use of practical concepts and theories that have been proven as a method of self protection on America's streets today.
Dr. Tindall (8th degree black belt) served as USKKA President from 1989 to 2008.

Since 2001, Dr. Tindall
officers have sought a replacement as President so that Dr. Tindall
could pursue other duties for the USKKA
, as well as varied other interests.
Mr. Whelan assumed the duties of President on June 2, 2008, relieving Dr. Tindall who served as President for the USKKA since its founding in 1989.
As a note of interest to the reader, Dr. Tindall, USKKA President, learned on his research trip to China in August, 1993 that the inhabitants of the Shaolin Monastery still practice the Martial Arts as a way of meditation and training today, the Chinese were impressed with Dr. Tindall's skill in Kenpo.
