James F. Sanft Named President of Concordia Plan Services
The Board of Directorsâ€"Concordia Plan Services is pleased to announce that James (Jim) F. Sanft has accepted the appointment to serve as new president for the organization.
will succeed Paul W. Middeke, who is retiring, effective March 3, 2008, after more than four years of committed service. (See related news story, â€œPresident Paul W. Middeke Announces Retirement Date.â€)
Sanft joined Concordia Plan Services in 1999 (then named Worker Benefit Plans) as the organizationâ€™s first director of actuarial services.
Since that time, Sanft has held a number of positions, including co-interim executive director and most recently executive vice president and chief operating officer.
In this position, Sanft oversees benefit administration/operations, information technology, products and services, and education and outreach.

Sanft has been involved in group insurance and employee benefits for the past 19 years, working for both Minnesota Life and Ameritas Life Insurance Corporation before joining Concordia Plan Services.
Graduating in 1985 with a bachelorâ€™s degree in education from Concordia University, Nebraska, he taught mathematics and computer science in 1985 and 1986 at Concordia Lutheran High School in Ft. Wayne, Ind. Sanft also holds a masterâ€™s degree in mathematics and statistics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which he earned in 1988.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
