James Khong is our missionary to Myanmar, formerly known as Burma.
wife Marta are natives of the country and speak the national language and other hill tribe tongues.
They have two daughters, Mary and Melody, the younger of whom (Melody) is adopted.
The Khongs work under New Missions Systems International, with their main emphasis on equipping locals to reach locals with God's Word in Myanmar, under a very repressive government.
James is a graduate of Hope International University.
He is the founder and director of the Eastern Bible Institute in Yangon (Rangoon) Myanmar (Burma), the capital city.
also is involved in evangelism and in helping national preachers with their work.
Because they are
natives of this land, they are able to go places and do things that foreign missionaries could not do.
Years ago, in fact, the Morse family was run out of Burma and continued their work in Thailand and China.
In addition to administering and teaching in the Institute, training new preachers and leaders, James
also visits the churches and encourages them when they have difficulties and problems.
