James D. Guy, Jr., Ph.D., ABPP
James D. Guy, Ph.D., was Dean and Professor of Psychology at the Graduate School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary from 1995 to 2001.
He is currently president and executive director of the Headington Institute, a nonprofit organization that provides psychological and spiritual support to humanitarian aid and disaster relief personnel worldwide.
also maintains a private practice in clinical psychology in Pasadena, California.
Dr. Guy is a diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology and a Fellow of Divisions of Clinical Psychology and Independent Practice of the American Psychological Association.
He has authored numerous articles and monographs regarding the interface between the professional life and personal relationships of the psychotherapist, including his book, The Personal Life of the Psychotherapist.
Author of more than 300 scholarly publications, Dr. Norcross has co-written or edited 18 books, including Leaving It at the Office: A Guide to Psychotherapist Self-Care (with Jim Guy), Clinician's Guide
to Evidence-Based Practice in Mental Health and Addictions
(with Hogan and Koocher), and the Authoritative Guide to Self-Help Resources in Mental Health .
