James W. Funk, Jr., CPCU, CIC, CPIA
Following graduation from Butler University, Jim began his insurance career in 1973 as head of human resources and public relations for a multi-state insurance company.
He spent the next 17 years as administrative manager of a large insurance agency
located in Indianapolis.
Jim was president of the Professional Insurance Agents Association in 1986, and in 1990 was awarded the Agent of the Year honor.
Jim returned to the board of the PIA in 1999 and served as president again in 2003 and 2004.
He is currently treasurer of the state association.
In 1993, Jim decided to strike out on his own and formed Central Insurance Associates, Inc.
The agency has grown from a staff of four to nine people.
Jim is very dedicated to continuing education and has served as instructor for a number of insurance programs.
has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and Certified Insurance Counselor designations.
In 2003, Governor O'Bannon appointed Jim to serve a three-year term on the Insurance Continuing Education Council for the State of Indiana.
has twice been reappointed by Governor Daniels.
