Sayre Borough's Emergency Management Coordinator Jim Daly has issued a warning to residents, stating the most recent predictions from the National Weather Service indicated "the coldest weather of the season is forecasted to reach us by Thursday and last for several days."

James Daly, a deputy assistant fire chief, said that the fire spread from the main floor of the warehouse to the offices above, but that he did not know whether the offices had been occupied at the time.
He said no workers at the market were injured, but a dozen firefighters required medical treatment, including one who was in serious condition after inhaling smoke. Mr. Daly said the cause of the fire had not been determined. Mr. Daly said that fighting the fire was complicated by how densely packed the pallets of produce were and how high they were stacked beneath the warehouse's 20-foot ceiling.
