James F. Caldas joined Health Quest as President of Putnam Hospital Center in February 2014.
Mr. Caldas has over 25 years of experience at an executive level leading improvement in clinical quality, patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and employee engagement. Most recently, Mr. Caldas served as the Executive Vice President of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. In this role, he acted as the President and CEO of the Eastern Division which included three acute-care hospitals with a combined bed capacity of 1,000. At Med Star Health in Washington, D.C., Mr. Caldas served as a member of the senior executive team and held the position of President and CEO of Washington Hospital Center, a 926-bed teaching hospital and the flagship of the system. Prior to Med Star, he served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operation Officer at Christiana Care Corporation in Wilmington, DE, leading day-to-day operations of a 1,090-bed healthcare system.
Mr. Caldas received his Bachelor's degree from St. Joseph's College in Philadelphia, PA and holds MBA and MPH degrees from Columbia University in New York City.

The contribution is the third installment of a $150,000, one-year pledge the Auxiliary made for renovations to the hospital's Emergency Department. To date, the Auxiliary has contributed $78,000 toward the pledge.
