Mayor Barberio attended Eastlake Elementary School, Brooklawn Junior High and graduated from Parsippany Hills High School in 1979. Mayor Barberio was inaugurated on January 1, 2010, finally fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming Mayor of the largest town in Morris County. Prior to becoming Mayor, he attended Montclair State University and spent 18 years in the financial field in the private sector. As a pro-active leader of the community, Mayor Barberio is known for reaching out to residents and business owners. His commitment to revitalizing and energizing the economy in Parsippany is a priority and he is an aggressive leader in the forefront of shared services. Mayor Barberio continues to fight for his constituents to ensure that Parsippany receives it fair share of State funding. Mayor Barberio served on Parsippany's Township Council from 2002 to 2005 and 2007 to 2009. He is a trustee of the Sons of Italy, a member of the New Jersey League of Municipalities Legislative Committee and currently serves on the Parsippany-Troy Hills Library Board of Trustees and the Parsippany Police Athletic League Board of Directors. He resides in the Lake Hiawatha section of town with his wife, Brenda and their two children. Mayor Barberio understands our township and the people who live here. The quality of life in Parsippany is quite good and he is proud of the true sense of community that exists. Bringing back Pride in Parsippany is important to Mayor Barberio because it depicts the sentiments of township residents and unites the community in celebrating all that we have to be thankful for.
