James Adamski, P.G. is an independent Professional Geologist serving as a Senior Scientist for ZFI.Mr. Adamski has 20 years of experience, primarily with the U.S. Geological Survey, where he worked as a hydrologist and then as a research geochemist.He has supervised inter-disciplinary investigations of the water quality, hydrogeology, geochemistry, and microbiology of ground- and surface-water resources.His work with the USGS has provided critical information and led to a better understanding of the quantity and quality of ground- and surface-water resources in central Florida.He has successfully identified the environmental factors (both natural and human) affecting ground-water flow and quality in these areas.His experience as a research geochemist provides him with unique understanding of organic contaminants such as pesticides, antibiotics, and cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) toxins.More recently, Mr. Adamski has assisted ZFI in environmental site assessments, wetland delineations, and a ground-water data quality-assurance project for SFWMD.Mr. Adamski has authored more than 30 publications.He holds a Master of Science Degree in geology from the University of Arkansas and is pursuing his Ph.D. in geology from the University of Kansas.Mr. Adamski is a member of the Geological Society of America and the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals.Mr. Adamski also is active in outreach, giving presentations on environmental issues to local schools and the Boy Scouts of America.
