Pleads No Contest To Child Abuse Charge
Huntsville, TN (2009-09-04) The west Oneida man accused of abusing two young children has pleaded no contest to a felony child abuse charge.
James Anthony Acres, 27, of Oneida accepted a plea deal on Monday in Scott County Criminal Court, pleading no contest to a single charge of attempted aggravated child abuse of a child less than eight years of age.

As part of the plea deal, Acres
will serve a total of one year in county jail, then be released to serve an enhanced probationary period of fifteen years.

Once released, Acres
will also be forbidden to have any contact with the two victims, and cannot have unsupervised contact with any minor children other than his
own biological kids.
