The Tulsa Regional Chamber elected Jake Henry Jr., president and CEO of Saint Francis Health System as its 2013 chair of the Board of Directors.
Henry succeeds Chair Becky J. Frank, chairman and CEO of Schnake Turnbo Frank | PR.
More than 1,200 area business leaders, local officials and citizens were in attendance when the Chamber
formally inaugurated Henry
at its annual meeting Jan. 16.
The Annual Meeting is presented by Oklahoma State University-Tulsa and hosted by the Tulsa Convention Center
A video presentation featuring a review of 2012 accomplishments, an awards presentation and Henry's inauguration address unveiled the Chamber's
primary initiatives it will undertake during 2013.
These initiatives include continuing the Chamber's
efforts to lead progress by advancing change and initiating development in the region; maintaining the Chamber's long-term strategic plan and focus on economic development, regional tourism, legislative success, education and expanding regionalism.
also plans to focus on addressing a plan for Oklahoma's response to Medicaid Expansion, and promoting continued and increased funding of common education.
"Representing the interests of the business community, promoting job growth and educational advancement, while also advocating for the interests and needs of those on the margins of our community-all will be accountabilities and duties assumed by the Chamber in 2013," Henry said during his closing comments.
In July 2002, Henry assumed the role of chief executive officer at Saint Francis and in that time, Saint Francis has become one of the country's most prominent and well-respected healthcare institutions, whose clinical quality is rated among the very best in the nation.
Prior to his time at Saint Francis, Henry served as the president and chief executive officer of Christus Spohn ("Spawn") Health System in Corpus Christi-a 6 hospital system in south Texas.
In addition to his role as Chair of the Tulsa Regional Chamber, he has played a significant leadership role in the state, serving on numerous nonprofit boards.

, and serves on the board of Montereau
in Warren Woods, the American Bank and Trust and the Tulsa Medical Education Foundation.
In 2006, Henry served as chairman of the Tulsa Area United Way, a campaign that raised $22.5 million.
Henry is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and in 2011 received the College's Regents Award.
He has also served as a member of the American Hospital Association's House of Delegates.
