Jackie works closely with clients to quickly resolve employee-related disputes, prevent lawsuits and dispose of pending claims efficiently.A substantial part of her practice includes counseling human resources managers, senior executives and in-house attorneys on all aspects of personnel and management issues involving employee recruitment and departure, wage and hour laws, and health and safety policies.She investigates employee complaints, provides daily recommendations on employee discipline and termination issues, and conducts training programs and management seminars for her clients.
In addition, she advises clients on all aspects of labor issues arising from corporate mergers and acquisitions, ranging from pre-acquisition employment due diligence to post-acquisition employee assimilation.She reviews and drafts virtually all employee-related agreements, including employment agreements, consulting agreements, proprietary information and non-disclosure agreements, non-compete agreements and severance agreements, as well as company handbooks and internal Human Resources forms.
Jackie represents employers in both state and federal courts, at the trial and appellate court levels, and before administrative agencies including the California Labor Commission, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, the Department of Industrial Relations and the Fair Political Practices Commission.Her clients range from small and mid-size local companies to international corporations.
Jackie is active in the firm's commitment to pro bono activities.Moreover, she serves as a team leader in the firm's mentoring program and is committed to mentoring women in the practice of law.She is the recipient of the firm's Outstanding Mentor Award for 2004, 2005 and 2006.
