Goodview Mayor Jack Weimerskirch said WAPS board members face some tough choices in the coming weeks.
He just hopes they remember that Goodview Elementary is a big source of pride for his city. At one point, Weimerskirch said the Goodview Activity Group even co-opted the school's motto as its own: "Goodview is a honey of a place to bee." "It's not just a neighborhood school - it's a community school," Weimerskirch said.

And after four years of waiting, Goodview Mayor Jack Weimerskirch said he's ready to give up.
"With the current climate and the way politics works, we don't have any hopes," Weimerskirch said. The federal funds for the project were first authorized four years ago this month, but were never allocated. And city officials, facing a federal mandate to reduce the amount of naturally occurring radium in its water - as well as threats of fines or even jail time for noncompliance - couldn't wait to build the $4.3 million plant. "Had I known I would be retired by that time, jail might not have been a bad alternative," Weimerskirch said.
