He served more than 25 years in elected positions.He exemplifies the highest standards of both a dedicated elected official and community volunteer.He has had several professional affiliations including: Director of South Metro Regional Chamber of Commerce; Co-Vice Chair of National League of Cities' First Tier Suburbs Steering Committee; a member of NLC's Public Finance Panel and its Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources Policy and Advocacy Committee; He was a West Carrollton City Council Member from 1972 , 1979 and from 1990 , 2005; He served as West Carrollton's Deputy Mayor in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 2005; He served as a representative to the West Carrollton School District as City Council's Board Liaison; He provided the leadership in the founding of the First Suburbs Consortium of Greater Dayton to address challenges facing older suburbs; And finally, with MVRPC in several capacities including: as West Carrollton's representative on the MVRPC Board from 1999 , 2006; as second Vice-Chair of the MVRPC Board from 2002 , 2004; as first Vice-Chair of the MVRPC Board from 2004 , 2006;He consistently provided the leadership, vision and the support necessary to expedite many plans and policies of high regional priority and economic impact.It is for these reasons that we presented Jack Jensen with this award as a symbol of recognition for his contributions to the Commission and especially to our Region.
