said a parade of administrators through the business office in recent years has resulted in a hodgepodge of procedures and processes to the point where there is not even a list of who is authorized to spend what..The taskforce called for establishing a district finance committee -- apparently separate from the already existing Citizens Financial Advisory Committee -- and defining job requirements of the chief financial officer to be commensurate with his
responsibility for administering a $100 million budget.
Although not specifically stated as such , an apparent underlying concern in the taskforce's evaluation of the situation is the prevailing public attitude regarding taxes vis-à-vis the district's stewardship of tax money.Many people conversant with district affairs have questioned whether the audit controversy has been sufficiently defused to engender sufficient support for a tax increase.
