After reviewing several applicants and interviewing some of the prospects that Rev. Waymon Pritchard of the Raleigh Rescue Mission submitted, it became apparent that J. C. Jones was the strongest prospect.

near Roanoke Rapids.Rev. Jones
wanted the job and came to direct the Mission with high recommendations by local ministers.This was the beginning of a long, happy, and productive association between the Mission and Rev. J. C. Jones, a modest, dedicated, and much-loved man.
Rev. James Watson Hired as Assistant Director of Union Mission
...Rev. Jones served the Lord and lived with his family in the Union Mission for many years after becoming Director.In 1989, he began efforts to hire an assistant as he had served for 14 years as Director by himself.
