Dr. Isaac B. Horton III has 25 years of experience in technology, international business and finance. His companies have more than 130 issued patents. The Focus of the technology of Dr. Horton is in three areas: Energy, Light (Photons), and Matter. The focus of his business is environmental, energy and health care. He has traveled to more than 30 countries and closed transaction in countries such as Japan, Taiwan, Australia, China, France, Italy, England, Russia, Malaysia, Belgium, and Brazil. Dr. Horton has raised over $60 million for companies in which he has a significant ownership position. His personal destiny is to help save the planet and fund the gospel through his non profit, God's Tipping Point.
Dr. Horton completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1979. After receiving a Doctorate degree in Chemistry from Indiana University, he began his career as a Drug Designer for the Dupont Company in 1984. No drugs had been designed in the world at that time. Dr. Horton was a part of an elite group of scientists that believed drugs could be designed by understanding the biological activity required. Today all drugs are designed.
Dr. Horton has traveled extensively and conducted business internationally. He has formed joint ventures with, the Chairman of Yamaquiwa the largest independent lighting company in Japan, the Malaysian Government having presented to the Prime Minister, China Trust of Twain, Hong Kong Tobacco of Hong Kong and Lucky Goldstar of Korea.
Dr. Horton is a strong advocate of education. He has served on the education committee for the Board of the American Chemical Society and the steering committee for the Urban Education Initiative of the National Science Foundation. As a national director of the National Organization of Black Chemist and Chemical Engineers, Dr. Horton created a mentorship program for intercity youth. He was featured on the front page of the Philadelphia enquire for his efforts in attracting youth to science. He was also featured in award winning columnist Tony Brown's book," Black Lies, White Lies for his work with youth in Philadelphia. The Rohm and Haas Company, a Fortunate 500 company, awarded Dr. Horton first runner up for volunteer of the year.
University Of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Dr. Horton presently serves on the Board of Visitors for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently a member of the first best practice committee where he chaired one of two subcommittees responsible for selecting the schools to benchmark and gather information.
Dr. Horton has served on the Board of Directors of Shaw University for eight years. He is a member of the finance committee. (Located in Raleigh, NC, Shaw University is the oldest historically black college of the south.
