Ian Marshman - Senior Vice-Principal
is the Senior Vice-Principal at the University of Melbourne
He joined the University in March 1999, having worked as a senior administrator in the Australian and Victorian Public Services since 1973.
is responsible for planning and resourcing for the University's 47,000 students and 7,500 employees.
manages an annual budget of $1.7 billion and oversees the functions of: facilities, IT management, human resources, governance support and managing external accountabilities.
Ian's recent priorities are to develop and implement a portfolio of major projects valued at around $2 billion and a range of initiatives designed to increase discretionary revenue and to contain administrative expenditure.
is Chair of the Management Committee for Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre
and was an auditor for the Australian Universities Quality Agency
Ian is also the Chair of the Universitas 21 Managers Group and a Director of Headspace Ltd; a national youth mental health initiative.
He is a member of the board of the Melbourne Theatre Company and the Melbourne Dental Clinic, a Director of a number of University boards and a past Director of various public hospital Boards.
