Iain Pullar, USSA Vice President of Services, ruled out a change in strategy and dismissed claims posters and online advertising could be misleading, stressing these kinds of promotions are very much the norm.
"The Garage advertises £1.50 drinks when it is actually only vodka that is on promotion, and ABC advertise £1 drinks on a Thursday when there is actually only one drink on sale for £1.
We still have quite a selection of 99p drinks on offer," he
remains confident this will not be the case.
"Students, being students, will only ever buy the drinks that are 99p," he
And although 12 hour Tuesdays previously offered a far wider range of promotional drinks, he
explained that the current financial climate has left the Association with no other option.
