Hugo GemignaniAssistant Coach:Hugo Gemignani helped build Anne Arundel Community College's baseball program into a national power.Gemignani, a biology/zoology professor at Anne Arundel, spent 20 years as an assistant coach with the Pioneers before joining Szymanski at Chesapeake in 1999.The Pioneers twice played for the national championship and won seven conference championships while compiling a .700 winning percentage during Gemignani's two decades at the Arnold, MD college.Twenty-five Anne Arundel players were taken in the professional draft during Gemignani's tenure at AACC. "Hugo's experience and love of the game have been extremely valuable to our program" Szymanski said."The baseball program has made great strides over the last two years, and Hugo has played a key role in our program's development." In addition to his coaching assistance, Gemignani has been a tireless fundraiser for Chesapeake.Gemignani, a long-time American Legion baseball coach, has helped raise more than $20,000 for the athletic program from the American Legion.Gemignani lives in Easton with his wife, Sandy.
