Dr. Hughey Reynolds
Hughey Reynolds was appointed as senior pastor of Laham in June, 2005.
grew up on a family farm in Lineville, AL where he
now spends many of his
days off from pastoral ministry gardening or doing farm work.
father, Lavelle, was a bi-vocational preacher and his
mother, Imogene, a rural preacher's daughter.
Hughey graduated from Randolph County High School in Wedowee, AL in 1974 and Birmingham-Southern College in 1978.
He earned Master Divinity (1980) and Doctor of Ministry (1985) degrees from Candler School of Theology, Emory University.
was ordained in 1982 as an elder in the United Methodist Church

in Huntsville, Hughey
served Highlands UMC in Birmingham (2000-2005), Sylacauga First UMC (1996-2000), Edgemont UMC in Florence (1989-1996), Fairfax UMC in Valley (1985-1989), Wedowee First UMC (1981-1985), Union UMC
in Chelsea, AL (1976-1981) and the Liberty Hill Circuit (1973-1976) near Ashland, AL.
background in and love of farming compel him to get involved in hands-on church mission projects, such as community gardens and home building and repair ministries with Habitat for Humanity, the Appalachian Service Project, Alabama Rural Ministry, and Volunteers in Mission (VIM).
is married (1975) to the former Sandy Jones of Ashland, AL.
She is a graduate of Clay County High School and the University of North Alabama.
She is a Human Resource Manager for a Government Contractor in Huntsville.
They have two married sons and daughters-in-law: Christopher (b.1978) and his
wife Kelly who live in Daphne, AL, and Jonathan (b.1982) and his
wife Catherine who live in Huntsville.
and Sandy have one grandchild, Beau Wilkins Reynolds of Huntsville.
