Pastor Howard McCrayExecutive Director/Pastor of Fish HousePastor Howard's road to recovery was spiked with an upbringing clotted with drug usage, jail and prison sentences.He is a former user of many different types of drugs, from heroin to meth.Despite being raised in a prominent Californian family, Pastor Howard started abusing chemicals at an extremely young age.What followed was a 25 year lifestyle based upon drugs and crime.He was involved in different criminal organizations over the years which involved the manufacturing and distribution of major amounts of drugs, extortion, robbery and burglaries.Over the past he has spent many years in prison and jails.His view of human life was that a person was nothing, (Romans 1:29-32) unless they had something he wanted and if he wanted it he would take it by any means available.He was often compared to the devil.It was not until he found himself dropped off in front of a faith based homeless shelter that his life took a dramatic turn.While sitting in a church service with 150 homeless men that where waiting for a hot meal, he heard a story about a man called Jesus.He knelt down in front of the preacher and gave his life to Jesus Christ.It was in the homeless shelter that his life took a turn for the better.It was there at the cross that he gave Jesus Christ his word that he would devote himself to the teachings and a program of recovery for the next 9 months.Those 9 months have turned into over 12 years.During that time he graduated from the a recovery program taught at the homeless shelter in Oakland, CA, He than enrolled into an Iowa Bible College where he studied theology and inner city ministries.Since turning his life over to the care of Jesus Christ he has devoted his life to helping other addicts caught in the spiral of addiction.Pastor Howard is currently serving as Executive Director of the overall ministry and pastor of The Fish House - which holds services Friday night in Otsego, Saturday and Sunday nights in Cambridge.

Howard has an incredible story of transformation from drugs, crime and carnage to becoming the Executive Director and Senior Pastor for the River City Recovery Ministries located in Cambridge, MN. Howard is happily married to Jill and has a 15 year old daughter, Sabrina. He is a devoted Christ follower, husband, father and servant to the people God has called him to serve. Pastor Howard McCray is an ordained non-denominational Evangelist and Bible teacher with a heart for helping those who have been beaten down by the addictions that can destroy a life, everything from heroin to Ho-Ho's or Cookies to Cocaine He has done most of it all. McCray is a straight talker when he speaks of overcoming addictions and adversities, because his life was literally turned around by the power of Jesus Christ. He grew up with an angry spirit, spending most of his life in prison, jails or institutions. After years of running he finally found redemption in the awesome power of the Lord after being dropped off by his Mother in front of a homeless shelter that was located in Downtown Oakland. After 25 years of an addictive, destructive evil life style Pastor Howard accepted Jesus into his life and the miracle began. Pastor Howard is determined to use the negative experiences of his past to make a positive difference in the lives of those who are addictive, depressed, hurting, and grieving due the negative choices they have made in life. Pastor Howard currently serves as the Founder and Executive Director of the River City Recovery Ministries in Isanti. They have a Saturday night recovery Worship Service called " The Fish House", Sunday Service called "Sunday Night Live. During the week Pastor Howard teaches Spiritual Step Studies called, "Walking through the steps with Christ", Daily Devotional and Christian principles that can help people find true freedom through Christ as found in the word of God. Pastor Howard McCray of Fish House Ministries, gave an update to the council following a neighborhood meeting held on Aug. 13 and attended by 21 people.McCray said it was a "good" meeting where parking, safety, property values and private property concerns were addressed. McCray said the overall feeling from the neighborhood group is they don't want a bunch of rules and regulations, and want to avoid spending tax dollars on this issue.As far as safety, McCray said he checked with law enforcement and there haven't been any complaints from the neighborhood involving people from the Fish House.To help protect private properties, McCray said they'd put up orange cones or barricades to prevent people from turning around in private driveways."We will do whatever we can to accommodate residents with special events going on, if they let us know they're having them," McCray said."We'd be more than willing to put up barricades to prevent parking by these homes.The guys in the house want to make this a better neighborhood.They've offered to put up cones, shovel sidewalks, mow lawns; do whatever we need to do to make this a better neighborhood."The neighborhood meeting lasted about an hour and McCray said, "it was a real positive, good meeting and an awesome opportunity for neighbors to voice their concerns."McCray said he plans on holding the meetings once a month to keep progress moving forward as a neighborhood.He said one neighbor at the meeting said she's noticed the Fish House has been trying to work on the noise issue.
