Proton Edar Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Hisham Othman attributed the rise in sales figures mainly to the introduction of the Proton Saga SV, which was launched in June this year.
"Driven by the Saga SV, Proton
recorded a staggering 72 per cent jump in the overall sales of the Saga in quarter three against quarter two of 2013," he
said in a statement released yesterday.
said the Saga SV addresses the increasing need for an affordable car for first-time buyers and small families, as well as university and college students.
"Within a span of four months, more than 22,000 units of Saga SV have been registered," Hisham
"Other models which have contributed to the company's overall sales growth include the Exora, Persona, Prevé, as well as the newly-introduced Suprima S," he
also noted that the Suprima S has received strong interest from customers since its launch in August.
Moving forward, Hisham
will be introducing new models within the next six months, as it continues to provide a variety of models that meets the needs and expectations of the public.
