Willmer Gordon Anderson was born December 27, 1922 in Mitchell, SD, to Clarence and Hilda (Peterson) Anderson.He attended school at the Anderson Country School.He farmed with his father and worked on other farms in South Dakota.He served in the US Navy in 1945 and 1946 then did carpentry work in California for a short time.He married Donna Garlinghouse in 1946.He returned to South Dakota and farmed until his retirement in 1988, then moved into Mitchell in 2002.On January 14, 1977, he married Elaine Stork at the New Home Lutheran Church and they enjoyed thirty years together.He was a lifetime member of the New Home Lutheran Church, serving as a Trustee for 23 years.He was Lisbon Township Clerk for 23 years, a member of the American Legion and the James Valley Community Center.He is survived by his wife Elaine, eleven children: William Anderson, Oakland, CA; Judy (Bill) Middleton, Reston, VA; Linda Anderson, Forest Knolls, CA; Ralph Stork, Mitchell, SD; Jeffrey Stork, Mitchell, SD; Paul (Marion) Stork, Beasley, Tx; Brian (Barbara) Stork, Albert Lea, MN; Jacqueline Arens, Beasley, TX; Ann (Greg) Girard, Mitchell, SD; Lori Stork, Bellevue, WA; Lisa Stork, Danville, VA; one sister, Muriel Brown, Moorhead, MN; 22 grandchildren, eight great grand children, two nieces and two nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Delbert, Raymond, Marlin and two grandchildren.
