For over 20 years, Herbert B. Fixler
has provided estate planning services to a wide range of clients including U. S. citizens and resident and non-resident aliens.
advises clients in connection with gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer taxes as well as income taxes; plans for wealth transfers to family members and charitable beneficiaries through gifts and other devices and testamentary transfers; drafts wills, trust agreements, family limited partnership agreements and other instruments; plans for estate liquidity needs; and provides advice in respect of asset protection planning.
Herb also supervises the administration of numerous estates and trusts.
In the closely-held business area, Herb
renders advice in connection with business structures, agreements among shareholders and partners, and compensation planning.
lectures regularly and is the author of numerous articles on estate planning topics.
He is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Sections of Trusts and Estates Law, Real Property Law and Business Law) and American Bar Association (Sections of Taxation and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law).
While at American University Law School, Herb was Director of the school's Legal Aid Society.
Upon graduating from law school, he
entered government service as a VISTA volunteer and thereafter commenced the practice of law in New York City.
Herb is a member of the Advisory Board of The Children's Health Fund, the Planned Giving Committees of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science and the Open University of Israel.
